The Big Cheese made it’s curbside debut in December of 2010 as part of the first wave of gourmet food trucks in the DMV. We are often asked “Why a grilled cheese truck?”. When we first hit the road in 2010 the initial idea what to do a pizza truck but there was already one in the area. With only a handful of food trucks around town we wanted to do something different. In 2014 we added a 2nd, bigger, Big Cheese (2.0) truck that was better able to handle the large high volume festivals we struggled through with the Lil’ Cheese. 2015 brought a couple tent vending set ups in to the mix and now we are a versatile mobile vending operation. While initially focused on lunchtime street vending we have shifted our focus to catering and events large and small.
The Big Cheese is available for you nonprofit organization’s fundraising event. We look for a minimum vendor to attendee ratio of 250:1 if there is more than one savory vendor (desert vendors excluded). Our standard charity event donation is 5% of sales if we reach a minimum of $500 in sales and 10% if we reach a minimum of $800.
